Atul Kulkarni is currently associated with Symbiosis Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (SCNN) of the Symbiosis International (Deemed University), India, in the capacity of Research Professor and Director.

He was in Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU), Department of Mechanical Engineering; South Korea under the Brain Korea Plus (BK21+) and brain Pool fellowships. He received his MS (1995) from Department of Instrumentation Science, University of Pune and Ph. D. from the Department of Physics, University of Pune in 2005, India, in 2005. During and prior to his Ph.D, he worked in Indian industries for more than 17 years (from 1989 to 2005) in various disciplines.

In Dec. 2006, he was offered a postdoctoral fellowship at SKKU, South Korea. Since then, he is actively involved in multidisciplinary sensor development. He has published over 85 research papers in international journals and has 10 patents (Korean, US and PCT) to his credit.

Dr. Mandar Shirolkar obtained his PhD from the University of Pune (UOP), India in 2012. While working for his doctoral degree, he also worked as Research fellow in Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune.

After submitting doctoral thesis in 2011, Dr. Mandar was shifted to Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) as Institute Postdoctoral fellow after which in 2012, he shifted to Hefei National Laboratory for Physical Sciences at the Microscale, University of Science and Technology of China, China as Postdoctoral Fellow, under Foreign Expert joint Programme of India - China Government for advancement of Scientific Research. In 2017, Dr. Shirolkar shifted to Tamkang University Taiwan. His research interests range from functional nano-oxides, polymer based nanocomposites and biocompatible functional materials. Dr. Shirolkar is associated with SCNN since August 2018.

Miss. Rajashree S. Deokar obtained her M.Phil. (Physics-2019) from the Department of Physics, Savitribai Phule Pune under the guidance of Dr. Arun G.Banpurkar and M.Sc. (Physics-2014) from Fergusson College ,Pune.

Prior to her M.Phil pursuit, she worked on Synthesis and Characterisation of Nanomaterials under the guidance of Dr. Bharat B. Kale , Centre For Materials for Electronic Technology, Pune. Her research interests ranges from Experimental study of pattern formation, Wetting, Spreading and mainly Breath Figures and also Synthesis of Metal oxide nanoparticles to application. Miss.Deokar is associated with SCNN since January 2019.

Ms. Neha Saini is a CSIR/ UGC – JRF with SCNN since September 2019. She completed her M.Sc. (2017) in Zoology from Department of Zoology, Kurukshetra University, Haryana and received National DST Scholarship (INSIRE-SHE) for Bachelor’s and Master’s program. 

At SCNN, she is involved in synthesis of nano-materials and their application for prognosis of somatic cancer using Biosensors. Her research interests include application of nano-materials for contraceptive implants/ depots, Efficacy of organic anti-oxidants against pesticides induced reproductive damages in mammals etc.

 She will also be involved in advanced drug-delivery mechanism via “nasal to brain / pulmonary routes” using Nano-materials dispersion.

Mr Prem Pandey is junior research fellow with SCNN since October 2018. He received his M.Sc. (2005) in biotechnology from Department of Biotechnology,University of Pune. He was among top 30 students selected through All India combined entrance exam for Biotechnology and was recipient of prestigious JNU-DBT scholarship for biotechnology master’s programme. Prior to his Ph.D. pursuit, he worked with industry for more than 10 years (2005-2015) in different disciplines before adventuring with entrepreneurial Journey (2015-18).

At SCNN, he is involved in unravelling the chemistry of green synthesis of metal nanoparticles and its possible role as antimicrobial and antiviral agent against infectious organism. He will also explore the role of these nanoparticles as therapeutic and chemo-preventive agent for ER/PR+ breast cancer.
