Nanoscience and nanotechnology embraces the art of studying and manipulating matter on an atomic, molecular and supramolecular (the nanometre) scale. At these scales, materials exhibit extraordinary properties that are otherwise unobserved on large scales. Nanoscience and nanotechnology research calls for a truly interdisciplinary effort, exploiting physical, chemical, biological and medical sciences together with state-of-the-art engineering expertise.
In order to promote basic and applied research in the fields of nanoscience and nanotechnology, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) established a Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (SCNN) that could ultimately innovate and develop new-generation materials/devices for societal benefits.
Our aim is to develop a global network for research and innovation and provide leadership in developing affordable smart-technology.Know More >
Symbiosis Centre for Research and Innovation (SCRI), established in 2009, is the dedicated department of SIU for promoting and facilitating research among students and faculty. Through its academic and administrative services, SCRI enables researchers to achieve excellence in their work, and eventually, translates SIU’s vision of creation of knowledge for the benefit of the Society into reality.
