Dr. Ravindra N. Bulakhe is a distinguished materials scientist, recognized for his significant contributions to advanced energy storage and conversion technologies. His research primarily focuses on the development and systematic characterization of nanostructured materials for supercapacitors, lithium-ion batteries, and related electrochemical systems. With an extensive portfolio of peer-reviewed publications and a strong citation record, Dr. Bulakhe has contributed meaningfully to both fundamental scientific understanding and practical advancements in electrochemical energy technologies. Through interdisciplinary research that connects materials chemistry with real-world energy applications, active international collaborations, and dedicated mentorship of young researchers, he has established himself as a prominent contributor to sustainable, high-performance energy materials research.
Education and experience: With over 15 years of research experience in advanced materials science and electrochemical energy storage, Dr. Bulakhe has played a pivotal role in developing next-generation nanostructured materials for high-performance supercapacitors and lithium-ion battery systems. He obtained his PhD from Shivaji University, Kolhapur India, and subsequently undertook post-doctoral research at Yeungnam University, South Korea. He later served as a Research Professor at Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea, where he led and contributed to high-impact research on nanohybrids, advanced electrode materials, and innovative energy storage technologies. Over the course of his career, he has authored more than 100+ peer-reviewed publications, accumulated thousands of citations, and fostered strong international research collaborations. He has supervised numerous postgraduate and doctoral scholars and has been actively involved in securing and managing funded research projects in nanotechnology and sustainable energy materials.
Research theme(s): Dr. Bulakhe’s research focuses on the design, synthesis, and advanced characterization of nanostructured materials for sustainable energy applications, particularly electrochemical energy storage systems such as supercapacitors and lithium-ion batteries. His work emphasizes the development of high-performance electrode materials based on metal oxides, mixed-metal nanocomposites, carbon-based nanostructures, and hybrid architectures to improve energy density, power density, and long-term cycling stability. He investigates structure–property relationships through comprehensive electrochemical and materials characterization techniques, while also exploring multifunctional nanomaterials for sensing and catalytic applications. By integrating fundamental materials chemistry with applied device engineering, his research contributes to the advancement of next-generation energy technologies and sustainable nanotechnology solutions.
